Your child can only enjoy the full benefits of what Sol Plaatje Primary School has to offer if education becomes a three-faceted process involving school,  parents and the child.

The partnership between parent and school is vital if children are to derive full educational benefit from their primary school years.   The school cannot function without the financial support of parents through the payment of school fees,  support at fund-raising functions and participation in the GB/PTA.

In order to assist parents to help their children, the school keeps parents informed of their child’s progress through regular report cards, letters to parents, letters of concern and interviews.

In turn, teachers require the active assistance of parents in matters such as checking through their homework books and ensuring that homework is done, ensuring that children prepare for tests and that children meet assignment deadlines.  Teachers also require pupils to read, as much as possible, as this plays a very important role in the education of learners at this school.
